Garden and Grass Cutting

This year we have been gardening like crazy! Well... compared to last year we have.

Living on the toe-slope of a small butte, the "mount" as it is so named, in the Willamette Valley means we have very heavy clay soil. Not so good for a productive garden. We are surrounded by lush fields with great soil but ours is not... So I have taken to creating some raised garden beds! (I will probably do a more detailed post of this later)

And here is some of the fruits, or rather vegetables, of our labor:

Snow Peas, Green Onions, and Early Wonder Beets

Aren't they beautiful?

Snow Peas, Valencia Onions, and a volunteer plant from our compost (A pumpkin, I think)

Another sign that June is here: my grandpa's grass field has been cut! Time to let the sun dry it out and hay hauling will be around the corner before we know it.

Cutting the field...

Cut vs. Uncut

This will be hay soon!
